My First Week in Thailand

April 9th 2013

So, my first week here in Thailand has been incredibly busy. We’ve had conference for a solid week now, from sun up to sun down. Its my first creative conference though and has been a whole lot of fun. Even though a lot of the sessions and workshops have been super basic it has been a real treat to get to meet so many people who are interested and knowledgeable, at least on some level, in the same stuff I am. Its quite a nice new experience for me.

I’ve talked with missionaries from literally all over Asia, Africa and Europe, listened to at least a dozen different languages, been recruited by the IMB and had several people express interest in having me redesign their websites.

So not surprisingly aside from this we really haven’t done a whole lot, just driving to and from the conference, the grocery stores, various restaurants and the Dunn’s house and my apartment. Once the weekend roles around however and we start forming a more “normal” schedule in the coming weeks I should have more to report and show.

I’ll be renting my own motorbike next week and be living completely on my own in a week or so as Darin and Staci will be headed out on a holiday in the mountains for a few days. So prayers for safety and a continued quick adaptation to the culture layout and climate of the city would be appreciated.

Love you all! Keep working hard and enjoy the spring. It would seem I’ve missed mine and have gone right to 100-105°F everyday. Oh well.. it isn’t the first time I’ve missed spring in KY.

In Thailand

April 5th 2013

Its Friday night, second full day here is complete, and when I say full.. I mean it. From 6:30AM till at least 9:00PM we’ve been going non-stop. So on top of a bit of jet lag its been a very heavy two days.

Plane that took me to Thailand from S. Korea.

Enjoying fooling with my new camera while I wait for my final flight.

The view from my apartment. Horrible I know. ;)

Alive

March 30th 2013

All is silent, all is gloom Christ has died but what good did it do? A rumble, a call, an empty tomb. “I came and died, and have risen too.” Pain lay forgotten, death was left behind and fear cowered at the voice of God the Father calling out to his Son. “Your sacrifice was sufficient, your death acceptable, our wrath has been satisfied, now arise my victorious Righteousness and bring many sons to glory!”

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
